Course Overview & Target Audience: This course is designed for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Clinical Reviewers (MBSCRs) with data extraction, assignment of variables, report generation, preparation of data, and understanding of their role with their local MBS Committees and MBS Directors. Course Objectives: Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe the appropriate guidelines for patient follow­up and completion of cases in the MBSAQIP Data Registry.
  2. Interpret the surgical and procedural differences of various metabolic and bariatric surgical procedures and their associated complications.
  3. Identify the specific steps necessary in preparing for MBS Committee Meetings, MBS Director Meetings, and MBSAQIP Accreditation Site Visits
